Youth LEAD Pre-Employment Program

Are you a Newcomer between the ages of 15 and 29?


Youth LEAD is a pre-employment program that provides you with the tools and knowledge to find a meaningful job. This program includes valuable workplace training; where you will receive key workplace certifications to help build skills that employers are looking for, along with a 12-week work mentorship placement to put into practice the skills you've learned!


In the Youth LEAD program, you will receive:


  • Certifications in WHMIS, AODA, Health & Safety, Food Handlers, Access Forward, and more!

  • A 12-week mentorship placement in the social sector (12 hours per week).

  • Support in your job search from an employment specialist.

  • Enhanced employability & life skills.

  • Networking opportunities with other participants, social service providers and employers.

  • A deeper understanding of the Canadian workplace culture.


To be eligible for Youth LEAD, participants must be:


  • Between the ages of 15 and 29.

  • Have lived in Canada for less than 10 years.

  • A Permanent Resident, Convention refugee, Protected Person, Temporary Foreign Worker with a work permit OR a live-in caregiver.
