Clean Needle Exchange and Safer Inhalation

By providing access to clean, sterile syringes and removing used needles from circulation, the program reduces the spread of HIV and hepatitis in the west end community and beyond.

Safer Inhalation 

Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre also offers free safer inhalation equipment to residents of Ottawa, including glass stems, mouthpieces, brass screens and chopsticks.

The use of the wrong devices to smoke crack cocaine and other drugs can lead to blistering and open sores on the lips and gums, which contribute to the spread of HCV (hepatitis C) and HIV among users.

Services are offered at our PQCHC location during the following hours:

9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays

1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Thursdays
