Pinecrest Terrace
The Pinecrest Terrace Community House has been helping families keep food on their tables and maintain housing for over 40 years (since 1982!)
We are located at 2483-B Iris Street in the West End of Ottawa.
We are a mini community hub serving the 125 families who live in the Pinecrest Terrace Ottawa Community Housing neighborhood and anyone who needs food bank services within our much wider food bank catchment area.
We are an easy to access drop-in space, with supportive staff available right in the social housing neighbourhood where many of our clients live.
Pinecrest Terrace runs a food bank by appointment only. Sorry no drop-ins.

Our Community House offers after-school and summer programs for kids (6-12) who live in the Pinecrest Terrace Community. When funding allows, we run the ELF Literacy program, I Love to Sport programs, homework club and many other critical hours programs. We also offer a variety of social and recreational activities for children, special events, and family excursions.
We provide opportunities for community members to come together to get to know their neighbours, to learn skills, and gain a sense of belonging and wellbeing. When funding allows, we offer adult engagement and community-building opportunities, such as cooking, gardening, and adult art programs.
We host large community celebrations and community brunches regularly. These gatherings help people feel more connected and less isolated.
During moments of crisis and natural disaster, we provide coordination and guidance, and help lead the emergency response. When there is violence and tragedy in the community, we are a safe, stable, trusted haven, present onsite immediately with Ottawa Community Housing and other key partners to provide support and referrals of all kinds.
Through our programs and daily interactions with the community, we develop strong relationships that are built over many years.
We are deeply embedded in the community, both in terms of our location, and the social connections we have created with community members. We know the community well and so are positioned well to provide individualized, appropriate support, and connect people with the services that they need.
The Pinecrest Terrace team offers wrap-around supports: we make referrals and let the community know about the beneficial services and resources available to them.
